Homo Transportabilis

Series of pencil drawings, colored with crayons.

Homo transportabilis is a new species, a new type of human existence defined by constant migration. These individuals have adapted to moving from one place to another without settling down. It seems logical that this life requires having all property always ready to move. They usually use all types of carriages, shopping trolleys, prams, suitcases or any other small vehicles, which can be pulled or pushed by one person.

My drawings were created according to photographies of homeless people found on flickr. Each drawing depicts a real homeless person. I intentionally chose people from different cities, as I wanted to compare their appearance. It turned out that homeless people look almost the same all around the world, that the obvious differences of laguage, lifestyle, clothing or hairstyles diminish with the poor. That poverty makes us all the same.
