Wall paintings for private company

Wall paintings on three levels of staircase in a main building of Rema, a company focused on ecological disposal of electric waste.

The company wanted us to create a fun to look paintings, that would make the workspace more pleasant and add a sprinkle of humor into a dull workday. Therefore we created a site-specific design that integrates the staircase into our painting. On each floor there is a painted window/windows with a view outside, painted photorealistically with acrylic colors. The frames of windows are painted to create a 3D illusion, that can be seen from a certain place on the staircase. The ground floor imitates a plane, the basement imitates a submarine and the first floor imitates a space shuttle.

Every level also contains graphic elements that enhances the illusion of being in the vehicle. We decided to keep these decors simple in style and in color, so that the windows stayed the main motive, drawing the viewer's attention on itself. We used stencils and masking tapes with two shades of grey acrylic paint.

The windows are 1,5 m in diameter. We also had to integrate a fire extinguisher, lights and escape lights (warning signal).
